We have left Germany and France well behind, and trail only Spain and Italy among European countries. South Korea’s toll is fading and we are closing rapidly on Iran.
The US Case Rate per Million Population has splurged from 35 to 51 in the last 24 hours. This is not because the US home-grown version of COVID-19 is extra potent; it a toxic legacy of Trump.45’s World Class testing bungle. The White House warned us this was coming (Dr. Birx) yesterday. Too bad they didn’t expend a little of that Best People expertise to do something practical to prevent it when they’ve had the Golden Chance since January 1, 75 days ago and squandered it. Instead the top people were babying a reluctant Smart Trump.45 who had his Hunches in Bunches.
Here’s another deadly little nugget. In the past 24 hours the total number of World cases increased by approximately 30,000. The US is responsible for 5,000 of them. 15% of the World damage from our modest 4% of the global population. Talk about doing your part to spread the Global Pandemic misery and cause cross-border trauma and supply shortages.
The American Viral Carnage coming will not wash through. We may be inundated or we may be drowned. Trump.45 is creating his permanent administrative legacy on a base of feckless ignorance and stubborn pride. He doesn’t need a MAGA or USA Hat to crown his locks as a Medical Wartime President. He needs a full out air supplied deep diving rig and a decompression chamber for the other side.
On the darkly humorous side, if people weren’t dying because of these administrative poor decisions, it is just possible that the US will overtake China’s national case rate (56) this weekend. Their Covid car seems to have some brakes, our’s is running riot.

Inspection is enough to take your breath away. And we are just getting up a head of steam. If today’s accelerated pace of 5,000 added US cases persists for a week, we will bypass Spain in that time. Number 4 in all the World. It’s not the next 3 day spike in cases we need to worry about, but the Children of the Spike spawn coming right after.
